The ISAZ 2025 Conference, hosted by USask’s PAWSitive Connections Lab, was themed: “Interconnected Worlds: Advancing Understanding in Human-Animal Relationships.” To represent the diversity and wide applicability of anthrozoology studies – whether in theory or in applied practice – our conference drew inspiration from the interconnectedness of the natural world in promoting wellness for all living beings, inclusive of considerations to broader ecosystems and intergenerational knowledge as they may impact human-animal interactions. Collaboration was a conference cornerstone, where attendees gained exposure to Indigenous cultural practices and worldviews, the impact of community-based research, and One Health frameworks – a signature area of research at USask.
