      Abstract
Transmission losses are an integral part of overall economic operation of a power system. This thesis studies the analytical techniques by which transmission losses can be computed and incorporated in the economic generation evaluation. Transmission loss formulae have been developed for the S.P. C. system and the results compared using published methods. The effects of selected changes in the system configuration and of numerical variation in the assumed parameters have also been studied.
