Eutrophication remains a global problem despite more strict regulations. Release of phosphorus (P) from fluvial sediments has shown its huge impacts on downstream water quality, while the P speciation and P release mechanism from fluvial sediments are still not fully understood. This study provides a conjunctive method for future studies on P speciation and bioavailability associated with fluvial sediments from agricultural catchment. The results could contribute to future sediments source tracing and modeling of the effect of the agricultural activities to the downstream water quality.
