      Abstract
Research dealing with changes in the blood coagulation system as a result of psychological stress procedures appears to be rather limited. Apart from the work of Cannon about forty years ago, and more recent clinical observations, the accumulated experimental findings in this area are few. However, each of the separate topics, blood coagulations and stress, has aroused great interest, and hence each is the subject of many articles. This introduction will first give a systematic account in chronological sequence of research that bears quite directly on the changes in blood coagulation production by psychological stress. Then, will follow accounts of the present views on stress and blood coagulation. In doing this it will be much easier to see the nature and position of the present problem.
