Abstract
Water pollution has received increasing attention in recent
years. With modern industrialization and increasing urbanization, the
need for the preservation of our aquatic resources has become obvious.
Shortages of water in some areas, whether due to climatic conditions
or the destruction of the value of available waters by increasing
pollutional loads, have made the conservation of our water resources
mandatory. Prevention of pollution and its abatement in areas already
adversely affected by its destructive forces are equally important in
the preservation and augmentation of our natural water supplies.
