Abstract
Design and construction. of input and output logic and equipment were required for the completion of the M3 computer system. The peripheral equipment permits communi-cation with the computer to be established and maintained.
The peripheral equipment includes a 500 characters per second photo-electric tape reader, a 100 characters per second tape punch and a 10 characters per second electric typewriter.
Due to the inherently slow speed of the peripheral equip-ment buffer registers are used to avoid computer tie-up for longer than necessary.
A manual keyboard has been produced to prepare program and data tapes.
Programming for the computer and some subroutines are described.
