Abstract
Racial discontent exists in many parts of the world. Canadians are particularly aware of such unrest in the United States. Do some white Canadians tend to have a patronizing attitude toward Negroes in their own nation? Has Canada its own unique racial problems? Have Nova Scotian Negroes, who compose over three per cent of that province's population, fully shared in Nova Scotia's educational
progress? In that province is there a subtle kind of racial discrimination? Has racial discrimination played a part in the history of Negro education in that province? What are the influences which determine the educational climate for the Negroes of Nova Scotia? Difficult and controversial as these questions are they demand investigation and study.
