Abstract
Soil physical properties were evaluated at three sites (one native and two cultivated) in an area of hummocky terrain. The native site possessed the most favorable physical conditions and some of the soil physical properties at the native site displayed a spatial pattern related to their landscape position. Cultivation resulted in a deterioration of soil physical properties, while a spatial pattern was found to be: (i) not present, (ii) created, or (iii) maintained as length of cultivation was increased.
