Abstract

“Okay, so, It’s a bunch of videos of eating chips. Made with a computer. These videos showcase the nuances within repetitive action. They border on obsession and broadcast the mundane. They tease authenticity and toy with time. They are often unpleasant to look at, unappetizing, even when this was not intentional. They are boring and slow and absurd and actually pretty interesting to watch when given the time. There’s some fun stuff in there too. And there’s a lot of chips in there. A lot of chips.” Chips. is a multimedia art exhibition created out a large number of long-form performance for video pieces. The exhibition explores the fluidity that exists between art and entertainment, attempting to create a gallery experience that is inviting and accessible for anyone with any level of culture-comfort to enjoy.
