This paper is interdisciplinary in the approach to the stories found in Str8 Up and Gangs: The Untold Stories. Drawing from the knowledge of Indigenous Studies and the study of English Literature, this paper connects discourses of health and sickness, crime and punishment, and Canada's colonial legacy to Indigenous gangs in Canada. Finally, this paper demonstrates how narrative techniques have been applied in an attempt to help intervene and prevent the growth of Indigenous gangs in Canada.en_US
